On a work trip to Bordeaux, my colleagues wanted to try a new place. They chose Modjo based on online reviews. Good choice indeed. We opted for the 4-course "blind" menu. You don't know what's coming. If you have food allergies or something you don't like, they'll adjust accordingly. But it was fun to not know what to expect! Each plate was more beautiful than the last. We enjoyed the mystery and "oohed" every time the server came with a new plate. The wine was a great recommendation from the sommelier. It worked well with every course. She was good at her job! My only complaint was the service. I'd give a solid 5 stars, but the staff wasn't very attentive and didn't seem to care. They did explain things well (we were a bilingual group, but some unusual ingredients needed extra explanation for the non-native French speakers). I wish I could do 4.5 stars...but alas the aloof attitude knocks off a star. I would love to try some dishes from their regular menu, if the special "blind" offer is anything to go from, they're bound to be as amazing. And I kinda wish we had had more wine :) read more
