Beach Please It's funny, because we've been coming here for years and I've always proclaimed that this is my favorite beach in Cali--but I always forget that "Morro-Strand State Beach" is the official name. I always called it "Morro Rock Beach," as I'm sure many others have, as well. But, I digress... The Good: *It's a beach! *Free! *Always great weather here in Morro Bay, as we even come here to visit in the winter. *With the visage of the Morro Rock in the background, it really is one of the picturesque beaches imo. *Plenty of parking, as we just discovered there's actually two lots to park here. *Restrooms *Always lots of shorebirds and wildlife abound. *Surfing is a very popular activity here *Fishing allowed *Campgrounds available *Just a short walk to Downtown Morro Bay with plenty of shopping and restaurants. The Meh: *It can get busy during the summer months but it's still not bad compared to some places we've been. The Ugly: *Dogs are **only** allowed on the campgrounds but nobody seems to follow this rule and it is not heavily enforced from what I've gathered. Conclusion: Great beach with great views in our favorite part of Cali. read more
