Mountain West was a huge part of not only getting sober, but learning how to stay sober after the program. I spent a total of 60 days here, and those 60 days truly changed the direction of my life.
From day one, the staff treated me like a person who mattered -- not just another client. Sarah, my case manager, played such an important role in my recovery. Her support, guidance, and belief in me helped me push through moments when I didn't believe in myself. Perry, the house manager, created a stable, structured, and safe environment that allowed real growth to happen, and James, the assistant manager, was always present, supportive, and genuinely invested in everyone's success.
The peer coaches are what made Mountain West feel like home. Rick, Brooke, Matt, Brandon, and Dell led groups every single night of the week, and those groups had a massive impact on me. Their honesty, consistency, and willingness to share their own experiences helped me build confidence, accountability, and hope. Because of them, I discovered a new purpose and set a goal to become a peer coach myself this year -- something I never would have imagined before coming here.
Mountain West isn't just a sober living house -- it's a family. The staff and the people I met here became people I truly care about and will always be grateful for. The lessons, relationships, and support I gained here continue to help me stay sober and move forward in my life every single day.
