I don't normally write reviews for my medical team but Dr. Assi has been too wonderful to pass on. A few years ago my primary care physician closed his practice to start working with a large government agency. I am on medicare and this happened during the chaos and unknowns facing the medical profession as Obamacare loomed on the horizon. Every doctor I contacted told me they were not accepting new patients. I talked to a close friend, a retired surgeon and asked if he had any suggestions. He gave me a couple of names including Dr. Assi. My wife knew him because he had treated my mother in law. He was also not accepting new patients then, but agreed to see me because of the "family connection". Times have changed and and Dr. Assi recently took over the practice of a retiring physician. He added a wonderful nurse practitioner to his team and I see both if them regularly. Dr. Assi and NP Julie Zuniga are the consummate professionals. They always keep me completely informed, are encouraging in treatment plans and don't hesitate to chew my butt if I don't follow their orders. I truly love these folks, but would rather be healthy enough that I wouldn't need them at all. read more
