So I am not from Tomah but I am visiting family. I've eaten at Murray's now twice. First the venue: I was excited to check out this clearly upscale venue. the aesthetics of the restaurant is very nice, modern, and clean. Industrial looking. I loved it. Lots of room. Great vibe. 5 of 5 stars. The food: I ate pizza the first night. I only ate the crust and the Thin crust was good. I had a Reuben sandwich with fries the second day. Not acceptable. I don't eat dairy at all so I asked for the sandwich without cheese and it arrived without cheese. It also arrived with so little sauerkraut. Barely noticeable. I thought maybe there was a mistake with the order. The sandwich was also very small for the price. Like a child's serving. I did talk to the server about my concerns with the order and she did take it off the bill. That was good. But the food- I give it 2 of 5 stars. Overpriced and some additional QC in the kitchen would help. Service. This was surprising. On day one we were part of a larger group. It was impossible to get anyone to take drink orders, bring glasses, silverware, napkins. In fact we had to go to the bar to get drink service and the kids only option was water on the table but we had to wait a long time for plastic (yes plastic) cups napkins. I really hope there was no automatic gratuity added to the bill. For our lunch the next day there were only a few customers in the bar area. Our sever who was working the bar was on time but it took a lot of signaling g to bring her back to our table to check about the sand which. She did take the sandwich off the bill. That was the right thing to do but is this standard? Hmmm. BLUF: excellent atmosphere, food and service not good. I expected more. This is a lovely and modern eatery but the food and service falls very short. Also, is it a restaurant that has a bar, or a bar that sells some food? Not sure. The food was overpriced for the quality of the servings. As someone who loves to try new places, and travels quite bit across country, I might recommend this restaurant for the atmosphere (drinks after work) however QC, value, and customer service fall short.
