Our first stop in Zaanse Schans, a well curated little museum about the history of clocks and timepieces. The pendulum clock was invented in the Netherlands, which greatly increased their accuracy.
The staff in the front office was nice, helping us with our official paper Zaanse Schans Cards to take to each museum/experience to check in.
Though sometimes I wish that our modern lives were not so regulated by clocks and time and being on time, I can't imagine things otherwise. In the Netherlands, timeliness is highly valued so buses and trains tend to run on time or even early.
I enjoyed the 30 minutes we spent here. read more
