I absolutely adore this pub and restaurant. Traditional in style with low ceilings, open log fires, and corners to huddle in and have a natter. The bar service is top notch with orders taken swiftly, but I was a bit disappointed that they were not able to offer presseco or champagne by the glass. They sell plenty of real ales and craft beers here - a wide variety which is superb. We sat by the log fire and it was lovely to see locals, and visitors in here. This place can get pretty busy as a result, so it would be wise to book a table if you fancy eating in the restaurant otherwise you can grab some bar food in the bar! The Sunday menu offers roasts and fish, and let me tell you the roast was superb. The service was excellent and after devouring my roast the dessert board was bought out - lots of lovely traditional desserts such as crumbles, sticky toffee pudding and a cheesecake. This time round I shared a cheesecake with a scoop of rum and raisin ice cream. A place that I could happily relax in for a few hours and I did! I will be back. read more
