Took my laptop in due to the screen turning "jumbletron" (not sure the technical term) after a few minutes use everytime I turned it on. After a week, they called and said that it was due to it not having enough RAM (4GB) to multitask, but it should be fine if I just used it to surf the internet and watch Youtube...which I told them was all I use it for. They advised that due to it being an older laptop (it was manufactured in 2021...that's "older"?) and the RAM for it no longer being available (other than possibly finding a used one) that it wouldn't be cost effective to fix and that I'd probably be better off purchasing a new laptop. I picked it up and paid the $35 diagnostic fee, and once I got home bought a used 16GB RAM for $20. I installed it and am having the same issue with the screen...so now I'm back to having to find another shop that can actually diagnose this thing correctly as it obviously wasn't a RAM issue. read more
