We had a wonderful lunch here with a gluten free cobb salad, which was gigantic, and a delicious burger with an onion ring upgrade.
This is a family owned business. We told the waitress, who we think is an owner, that the salad had to be gluten free. After a few minutes the chef (another owner) came out. He had been inspecting all of the salad dressing bottles to verify gf status. A choice was made, but the blue cheese couldn't be guaranteed gf so a sub was made with feta. We skipped the grilled chicken option. The salad was huge and delicious. We didn't try it but they have locally baked gf bread, too!
My burger was a good size and delicious with the onion rings. It wasn't ordered gf.
This is a small town, family owned café with an appropriate ambiance and small town friendly staff.
Tips: They are open limited days and hours so check their website. They have the only gas pump in town. It wouldn't take either my VISA or MC, but rumor is that it will take AmEx. Regardless, you tell the staff you want to pump and they come out and activate it for you and take your cash.
We were very pleased with the overall experience and the unusual concern/care regarding gluten free needs.
While you're there, take the horse drawn wagon ride out to Great Camp Santanoni. It's gorgeous and fun. read more
