I don't know may places that sell hard ice cream that isn't a chain store, but The Nut Shoppe in Northgate Mall does. This is a neat little place located just outside Zellers. It has the bank of ice cream freezers loaded with different flavours of hard ice cream (ahhhh, insert fond childhood memory). The Nut Shoppe also sells all sorts of nuts and confectioneries like: rock candy, hard handy, chocolate, chips, nuts and other tasty goodies that will have a kids allowance gone in minutes. It's nostalgic to walk in and see the shelved lined with glass jars full of candy. I'm sure they go through a ton of ice cream on hot summer days and it's a guarantee that I'll be stopping by with my daughter for a scoop! read more
