This is the sister (perhaps a better term would be "offspring") restaurant of the Oaxaca Restaurant on 27th Avenue near Northern Avenue. This one is spacious and brightly-lit, and although its interior doesn't have the bright colors of its parent restaurant two miles northwest of it, its tidy standard restaurant seating and tables do give it nice casual atmosphere. Framed historic photographs of Francisco Villa and others fill the western wall of the establishment. The menu is identical to that of its parent restaurant. Because I came on a Tuesday (taco day of course), I ordered the cecina and tasajo tacos - both very tasty, i know I'll be ordering more on future visits. I also ordered a cecina gordita - my first gordita ever and now I know I've been missing something really good all these years I've been indulging in Mexican food in the Valley. I also need to mention that they have very good in-house fresh tortillas. Prices are good, parking is no problem, and location is very convenient: the restaurant in the commercial plaza on the northeast corner of Bethany Home Road (which it faces) and Frontage Rd. / I-17. read more
