Stopped by this afternoon to find Offside closed ... but owner Maurizio outside, and welcoming me in to check it out. And what I found, I liked: a cozy Italo-American sports bar that has several well-placed TVs and lots of room to watch what's on them. We managed to find a replay of the NLDS and Maurizio assured me he and his staff do their best to accommodate customers' requests for games, from baseball and soccer to college and NFL football. (Hmmm ... I wonder what's on during, say, most of March? And, no, I don't mean Spring Training!) E, non dimentica il calcio: the walls plastered with pennants from all the major European teams evidence the bar's devotion to "the other kind of football." There's a wide selection of beers on tap, full bar, and a "Full English Breakfast" deal that looked good, too. Maurizio's a great guy who takes well-deserved pride in his establishment, and I'm looking forward to getting back there soon to enjoy it.
