Loved, loved, loved this beach. If you, like most, get here before high tide, you will be relegated to the small, therefore, swath of VERY crowded beach that is above the high tide mark. If you wait though until after the tide has gone out, you will be rewarded with a large, firm stretch of beach that is far, far less crowded, closer to the water, and, for us, the perfect place to plop down our chairs & bodies for a long afternoon of sun & ocean (& seagulls trying to swoop down & grab our lunch). It is also a terrific & looooong beach to walk on (all the way to WELLS) & take in a perfect sunrise. We loved it for all three: walks, sunrise & solid sand for lazing away the afternoon in the sun. The river side of this beach is also really enjoyable. Parking is limited, so try to walk here. read more
