Wow a shiny new specialty kosher grocery store right at Promenade mall and right underneath the newly built condos above. Now I have to agree with the previous reviews that price is on the premium end, but it's to be expected. There are around 10 grocery stores in this 5km radius, so this area is not short on options at various price points but not many aiming for the high end price point. While I'm not the target customer, I can appreciate the Jewish community having more options. It's only been open for a month or so and I see it's already bustling on a weekday lunch hour. The produce and meats are a bit expensive as expected since it's kosher though they do look super fresh to me. What would likely get me coming back is there bakery section with all those tempting pastries and fresh out of the oven challah bread! If you're in a pinch you can get a reusable large jar of soup for $8. They even have an area dedicated to dairy free cakes which are also Yoshon (I had to look it up - which is made with grains that are grown (rooted) before Passover of the previous year).
It looks like significant improvement to the experience from the first reviews when they just opened. They readily let you try samples of their pizza by the pizza oven and the shelves are look to be fully stocked. They also have a ready-to-eat section which seems quite busy as staff scooping out for customers in line. Trays look to be mostly emptied out. The aesthetic of the store looks sleek, even the conveyor belt to grab your grocery after you paid has gold trims. The floors with marble-like pattern really adds to the high-end feel. They also have a large dedicated customer service area as well. A lively atmosphere as I see many families shopping with their kids as well.
Also learned that if you download their app, 1% of your purchase goes to a charity of your choice. I wish they just auto donated without us downloading another app.... as my phone is already filled to the brim. read more
