I was pleasantly surprised when I found this nice sub shop on one of the two main roads in this town. The service was excellent and fast and I thoroughly enjoyed the sub. I got the ham and turkey which comes with mayo, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, grated cheese and oil. I had them to hold the grated cheese and asked for banana and jalapeño peppers. I don't eat a lot of bread but this sub roll was extremely soft and not doughy inside. If it's a French bread (which I think it is) then it's definitely on the better end. Just a caveat here: I never knew how serious French bread was taken until I moved to New Orleans. They pride themselves on using the best French bread and that which has to be made by Leidenheimers. Although this place doesn't quite have that quality of bread, it was certainly okay. For over 105 years, Leidenheimer Baking Co. has been producing fresh French bread for the New Orleans and Gulf South area so it'll be kind of difficult to match these years of experience. But for this small and very cute town, (Olean, NY), it's waaaaaaay better than Subway. I think I'm going to try that super taco sub before I leave. read more
