Came in for the first time today, and I will definitely return in the future. Let me explain.
I needed cash for my laundry load so I went to use their ATM. I was distracted by their cute cat Patchy (sp?). When I looked back, there was a bill waiting for me in the machine. I didn't bother to examine it closely, I just assumed it was the $20 I had withdrawn. Gina (the owner) was standing right there and noticed a $10 bill on the ground, and pointed it out to me. I was under the impression that the one and only $20 I had withdrawn was in my pocket, so I asked if she was sure it was mine, and she said it must be because no one else was here.
I reluctantly picked it up and put it in my pocket, feeling somewhat guilty that my luck must be someone else's misfortune. It wasn't until later, when I tried to get quarters with my $20, that I realized that the bill in the machine was also a $10, and that the machine must be the kind which dispenses in denominations of $10 (and that one bill must have been caught by a gust of wind or something).
Gina could have said nothing, pocketed my $10, and probably gotten away with it. But she spoke up instead, which made my day and (somewhat) restored my faith in New Yorkers. Like I said, I will definitely be bringing my laundry here as long as I am in the neighborhood. read more
