Pacifica, the land that time forgot, puts on a traditional small town Pride Parade, sponsored by local schools & businesses. Man, if only this existed in the 1950s. Super supportive locals, including many children, lined the street .
Ten minutes of cheering & flag waving, followed by a band in the Ingrid B. Lacy school courtyard, food trucks & homemade crafts.
Unlike the SF Pride Parade, there is NO corporate signage.
Palmetto Drive is closed off for a couple of hours to make room for all the strollers & dogs & dogs in strollers.
The local gift shop was selling children's knit rainbow beanies. One girl was walking around with an inflatable unicorn bigger than her.
Best part, you can show up at 10:45am for an 11am start time & park a block from the entrance. Good times. read more
