Pasta Romagna is more of a cafe than a restaurant. It is open during the day and makes it's money from the hundreds of shoppers that walk past them everyday in the city centre. Luring them in with the loud Italian music spilling out into the street, and the sound of an Italian women, Mrs Walker, singing along heartily. She is a right character and looks like a tough cookie. You can see she is strict and bosses around her young waiters with the best intentions. She won't take any crap. I enjoy watching her run ins and she likes the attention. There is an air of performer around her and the place would not feel the same if she wasn't in it.
They sell pizza, pasta, salad and breads. Nothing too fancy, but very nice all the same. I had a slice of pizza, salad and a coffee for about £4. The food is pretty average but the coffee is the good stuff. It's a well lit, comfortable and pleasant place to be, especially if you're tired from shopping or just need a sit down and caffeine boost. read more
