Word is that this Pho Da moved from Rosemead after that location closed. I never heard of it and always on the lookout for new pho places, so when Tim C mentioned this place for lunch, I was open to checking it out. Pho Da is located in the rear corner of a plaza, next to a farm produce outlet. There was plenty of parking when we went on a Friday. The inside is much bigger than it appears from the outside, with faux foliage hanging from the high ceiling. Service was prompt and pleasant. I got the #42, which allowed me to choose 3 items: Pork chop, shrimp paste and steamed egg, served with a little pickled veggies and a mound of steamed rice. A bowl of bone broth was also brought out to accompany the rice. The pork chop was a bit firm but tasty. The shrimp paste had a crispy shell, which I really enjoyed, and the steamed egg actually had a yolk, which I never had before. The service was attentive, and after our meal, we sat and chat for a while but never felt rushed. Currently they're offering a 20% promo for their grand opening, plus free iced tea. It's not sweetened it very refreshing as you get that perfect hint of tea flavor. I'll be back, and want to try their crispy egg crepe that everyone else seems to order. read more
