Located in a run down plaza is Pho Kien Giang. We did not experience the "sketchy area" that most reviews stated. Coming from California, we found this place to be legit and I would highly recommend this place for pho if you're in Pinellas County. The pho special came with all the different meats. Sriracha has been a shortage every where you go so they didn't have a bottle here. Too bad, because it would have tasted even better. We got the cá kho tộ which is a caramelized braised catfish. Also got canh chua cá which is sweet and sour catfish soup. Both of these items reminded me of home cooking. The soup had lots of bean sprouts, tomatoes, okras, pineapples, bac ha which is like a spongey celery stalk, and 4 slices of catfish. The broth had the sweet and sour taste of tamarind. So good and it came with a large bowl of rice. I loves that it was fresh pineapple not from the can. Everything here reminded me of my childhood. Very authentic. read more
