Any negative reviews are TOTALLY undeserved. This place is a great resource for anyone who works on their own vehicles. Realize that this is a SELF-SERVICE used auto parts operation, not a full-service auto salvage yard. If you want a higher level of service (answering of phones, ability to check inventory of specific parts, etc.), then go deal with a full-service salvage yard. Just beware that a full-service yard will charge higher prices than Pick-n-Pull, and will probably not let any customers walk though their yard. Furthermore, Pick-n-Pull is open 7 days a week, which is super helpful to those of us who work a full-time on weekdays. In contrast, most full-service auto salvage yards are only open five days a week, and if they are open on Saturdays, probably only half a day. Pick-n-Pull has a great website that allows you to search for a specific VEHICLE, at a specific location. But, it would be nearly impossible to inventory specific parts on each vehicle, as each vehicle has so many parts, and parts continually get removed. You can either look up a vehicle online, or stop at the customer service counter, and they will look at the computer for you. The search will tell you which row(s) the vehicle(s) are located in. You will then be handed a map of the yard; row numbers are marked on the windows of the first vehicle in the row. Once you find your vehicle (it's easy, as the rows are not super-long), you then see if the part(s) you need are still on that vehicle ... it's fun, kind of like a treasure hunt! Don't forget to bring your own tools. I saw some other customers with wheeled carts, for carrying lots of tools or larger parts. My visit Saturday was successful; I needed specialized parts for an instrument cluster. I originally tried to get them from a car dealership, but no local dealers had them in stock. I had the dashboard of my wife's car all apart, and didn't want to wait a few days for the dealer to order the parts. Then, I remembered Pick-n-Pull, and they ended up having four cars like my wife's car, with a lot of good parts among them, included the ones I needed. Mission accomplished! I found the building, grounds and yard to be well-organized, and employees were polite and helpful. Other reviewers who complained about the $2 yard admission fee ... c'mon, you can't even buy a cup of coffee for $2 nowadays (except Cumby's). But, if you register for Pick-n-Pull's rewards club (no cost to join), they waive the yard admission charge for members. Another thing I like about Pick-n-Pull is that the vehicles are already raised up, so you don't have to jack them up to get parts underneath the chassis. Besides being a good resource for used parts, I find it's a good resource to see how various parts are assembled/disassembled, which helps educate me about my vehicles. read more
