Manchester city centre has a sweet new bakery! - and this one specialises in sourdough and dark-bake loaves.
Based in a railway arch on Sheffield Street, just behind Piccadilly Station (a few units down from Track Brewing), their small-but-perfectly-formed bakery will produce various breads, cakes and pastries such as croissants, pains au chocolat and 'cruffins' - a hybrid of muffins and croissants.
They are understandably limited as to how much they can bake each day, so if you don't get down there early, prepare to face empty shelves! Their pastries sold out in less than an hour on opening day.
The owners, Hannah and Chris (of Fil Fil Falafel and S'mores fame) are seriously passionate about their new venture and really know how to bake, so you know their goods will be great.
Keep a watchful eye on their social media feeds (@PollenBakery) and opening times, and support a lovely indie business.
Tip: they accept cash and card payments. read more
