Before taking your car here, call any other performance shop in the Austin area and ask for a recommendation where to take a mustang/ford. I was told "no, I cannot recommend anywhere trustworthy in Austin" and "I know a guy, but I would send my worst enemy to him." among other things. Unfortunately, I did not know this beforehand. This was from me calling around over the last few weeks to find somewhere else to take my car to be completed. My car has now been at Pro Mod for SEVEN years. Currently, I am being told by Kirk that the only thing needed is a dyno tune, but have been told that for the past two years. The car sat for so long, I guess uncovered and probably out in a field (what I've heard from others), that it rusted a hole in the headers. This was after he backed into it, damaged the front bumper and the sent it to his "storage facility" instead of sending it to a body shop immediately. Recently, Kirk decided to attempt "friendly" conversation by texting me pictures of work he had done on his bike and sending me "positivity" songs. At this time, I asked him for an update on my car. I sent four texts between April 12th and May 19th without a response from him. Finally, I stopped into the shop and confront him face to face. This is when he told me about the headers and said he couldn't find any because they were all backordered. I did one google search and found them immediately at American Muscle. At this moment, he is again ignoring my texts and emails. He said my car has been moved to his "new location" in Marble Falls, but ignores my requests for this new address. I have also asked for a video of the car running to show a potential buyer which he agreed to, but took two weeks to send. Update: Kirk sent me a bill on 7/21 stating that the balance owed for work on my car was $27.73. On 9/12 he reprinted the bill with the exact same charges and it now says I owe 4k. Parts he said he would cover (I.e. fuel pump since he left it sitting so long waiting for body work), I am now being charged for as well as labor that I was told would be discounted is now full price. read more
