My family has this tradition of taking the kids out for trick-or-treating on Halloween in San Lorenzo village, and then going out for pizza after. The essential part of this tradition is not the trick-or-treating, but the pizza. No Halloween is complete without all of us stuffing our faces with pizza, and as such the pizza quality of our chosen pizza place must be top-notch.
Which is how I bring this story to Project Pie. Usually I'm pretty embarrassed about going into pizza places in my weird Halloween costume (I still dress up and I am NOT ASHAMED) so I was pretty shy giving my orders that particular Halloween, because you had to line up and tell the servers what you wanted on your pizza instead of just having one family member order a huge pizza, and I just so happened to be dressed in my full Star Trek uniform. So I was pretty delighted when the guy asking me what cheese I wanted on the pizza looked at me and said "Spock?" and I said, "omg yes!!!" and he flashed me the "long live and prosper" hand sign. It was great, the staff were all very cool and kind and looked genuinely happy to be making your pizza, which I really loved.
The pizza itself was great! Don't mind the menu, there's actually no limit to what you can put on your pizza, and you can put weird stuff like walnuts and BBQ sauce and gorgonzola cheese and essentially anything that tickles your fancy. It's one whole pizza for yourself and it costs around P300 - P350, which is a pretty good price for a customized pizza. The service is fast and the iced tea is really tasty, and I'm pretty sure Project Pie is going to be part of my family's yearly Halloween venture from here on end. read more
