My wife and I were driving from NC to Indiana and decided we wanted to do a nice sit down meal on our way. We came across Red Lobster and since neither one of us has eaten there in years, we decided to give it a try. We were disappointed in this selection overall.
The positives:
Staff - was friendly and helpful. Our waitress checked on us regularly.
Cheddar Bay Biscuits - these were perfectly made. I see why everyone makes a big deal out of them. Ours were the perfect balance of doughy and moist... almost melting in your mouth.
Roasted Brussel Sprouts - these exceeded expectations. They had a honey glaze which was delicious. Some of the best I've had.
Lobster Baked Potato - potato was perfectly cooked, soft and tender and the lobster and butter was the chef's kiss
The negatives:
Price - for what we paid ($125 plus tip) we could have gone to a nicer restaurant and had a better experience. Yes I understand it's seafood, but I can pay the same price at a nicer restaurant ant and it will be more flavorful and a better experience.
The scallops - I had them in 2 different forms and on both they were "meh". Bland and underwhelming.
Cleanliness - overall the place was a bit rundown. In the men's bathroom there was paper towels all over the floor and the toilet was wrapped in a towel so it didn't drip.
Overall I'm not sure I would return as for the price I did not see the value at this location. read more
