I love Bbq and have had it in many states and many different regions and styles. I've probably eaten at least 50 different bbq restaurants in my lifetime. My son brought me here for Father's Day since we both had not been here before. We both agree this was the worst bbq we've ever had. Our waitress was nice and checked on us many times. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely like a homestyle bbq restaurant with the wood and decor like a buffalo head , antler chandelier , steer skull with horns , and a picture of a cowboy. So , most bbq places have something that's really good and other things that are just okay. That is expected. The only things we agreed were good was the Hot Link , Salsa for the chips and the Mild Bbq Sauce. Our waitress came by and asked us a couple times how does everything taste. My son being nice said Good , while I was biting my tongue to not sound mean as he was looking at me. I was just going to say , Hmmm it's okay. I really don't like to complain especially to someone so nice to us. To start we had the Smoky Queso with pieces of Brisket. The Salsa was good , but the queso with brisket was a miss. I got the 2 Meat Plate with Pulled Pork and Sliced Brisket , Mashed Potatoes and Gravy , Sweet and Smoky Beans , Sliced Pickles , and Texas Toast. The Brisket had no smoke taste , no seasoning taste , no taste at all just hard to describe being that plain. The Pulled Pork had a little smoke taste to it and wasn't dry. I added the Carolina Gold Bbq Sauce to it to help it out. Well , the Carolina Gold Bbq Sauce tasted like straight up Mustard with hardly a hint of Vinegar. I've had some good mustard sauces , but prefer the Carolina Vinegar and Red Pepper Bbq Sauces. I love bbq baked beans and almost every bbq restaurant I've been to has good or great beans , not these ! They tasted straight up like Van de Camps Pork and Beans with a little Bbq Sauce added to it and no bits of Sausage or Brisket in it. Some places I've been to several times I will get 2 orders of beans because they taste so good. My Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was really plain and I added a lot of pepper to it. Even my Sweet Tea wasn't good , it tasted like metal from sitting in the container for too long and barely sweet and I don't like overly sweet tea. I asked the waitress about the Potato Salad and she said it was just a Mayo Potato Salad and I prefer the Mustard Potato Salad so I didn't get it. My son got the Smoky Chicken Griller which is sliced chicken, bacon, onions, pepper jack, and barbecue ranch, grilled on Texas toast. He got the barbecue ranch on the side and was glad he did since he didn't like it at all and I tried it and it was okay. He rated the sandwich as a 2 and I rated it a 5 and I would've used a little mayo on it instead of the barbecue ranch. He also got a Hot Ling on the side so we could try that. It was peppery and we both thought it was pretty good. We usually like the ones with jalapenos in it. They have 3 Bbq Sauces , Mild , Spicy , and Carolina Gold. I usually prefer a spicy bbq and sometimes if they have a sweet I will mix them together for brisket or baby back ribs. The spicy bbq sauce was not good. The mild was not bad and we preferred it to the other 2. The Carolina Gold as I stated before was like straight mustard with hardly a hint of vinegar or other spices. We spent over $60 with tip and felt cheated with the level of quality of the food here. I know Ribs are their specialty , but I can't imagine them being any good compared to everything we ate and they are St Louis Style , not Baby Back Ribs. I moved here last year and my son and his wife moved here 2 years ago and we have had a very hard time finding a good bbq restaurant in Oklahoma. Great Steaks , Onion Burgers , and Fried Chicken , but marginal bbq so far. I've been an Elite Reviewer for Yelp for 7 years and a regular reviewer for probably 2 years before that and I think I've only given 1 Star to one other restaurant in nearly 10 years. I'm sorry to do it , but we will never come back here and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Even the buffalo over the front door looked sad with spider webs and dust hanging from his nose and mouth. read more
