This is a favorite park for me and my Labrador Retriever as it is close to our home and if it isn't crowded she gets to run in the woods off leash.
As some others have said, it is a private Kingwood residence park and you must have a K sticker to park there, you can park out on the road and walk in though.
There is a boat ramp and lots of spots to fish, a long wooden pier runs up the inlet, there is a pier next to the boat ramp, too.
The forest area has a disc golf course and there are soccer fields across the pedestrian bridge. There are also several spots with playground equipment for the kids, picnic tables, grills as well as some covered pavillions, but you need to reserve these in advance for a picnic or party.
The park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset, there is an electronic gate, if you get back from a boating excursion late, the gate will open for you when you pull up.
There are snakes, some poisonous as well as the occasional alligator. Lots of birds for birders so bring your binoculars or a camera. read more
