I highly recommend River Reader Kayaking for a wonderful kayak experience on the Waccamaw River. Hastings is a super polite, experienced, and knowledgeable guide. On our trip he pointed out several ospreys, a fantastic rookery of Great Blue Herons, turtles, a water banded snake, a green tree frog and more! We were a mix of beginner and intermediate paddlers and he ensured that everyone had a fun, safe, and memorable day out exploring. We took a walk on Sandy Island and learned about the different ecosystems including a Carolina Bay and the second highest point in Georgetown County (the landfill is the highest point!). Overall an amazing experience and our group left happy; we all hope to go again soon! read more
