The drive to the park took us up a two lane road that is a section of the cascade scenic loop.
Arriving in the park for our 4 day stay we check in with the friendly owner and site is assigned to us on the riverfront. It was easy to pull into which gave a great view out our front window and was FHU.
The park has a huge dog park, bathroom/shower facilities, laundry, lodge and little store which does not have many items.
The charm of the park is the beautiful views of the river and mountains and proximity to rafting, hiking, North Cascade National Park and the neat little town of Winthrop. This cute little tourist area is close to the NP and has be redone to resemble a western town with restaurants, river views, and variety of different shops.
Drive up the road about two miles, put your tubes in and float down to the park.
The little artist hamlet of Twisp is right down the road for shopping.
They are home to Hanks Grocery store which oddly has taxidermy collection of wild animals in the store. The frozen food row has quit a collection looking down on you.
We would stay here longer in the future. read more
