When my travel partner and I were trekking through northern Utah, he said that we must stop at the gas station for the best chicken strips and potato logs in the country. That's a pretty big claim, and I was ready to judge it's accuracy.
The gas station itself is not impressive-it's old, rundown and dirty. I was looking at the sunglasses display and physically shuddered at the amount of dirt and grime that covered each pair. They've likely been there months or even years without getting wiped down.
When a place is that dirty, it makes me question the cleanliness of the food prep area, too. However, I put that thought aside and fully immersed myself in the chicken finger experiment. To my delight, they were pretty good-as were the potato logs.
I'm still not sure they are the best in the entire country, though. I'll have to continue my mission to try them all and then I can return and report. read more
