Ruby's is a beautiful restaurant with festive and rustic touches. Our party loved all the the entire ambiance down to the traditional steel dishes, cups, and bowls.
We ordered a number of dishes, all to share. The tandoori chicken was spicy and delicious. I missed the sizzling platter that this is usually served in. We also ordered the paneer tikka and I liked the unique flavor, like an achar or pickle, but it missed the mark. It was room temperature and not nice and soft.
Other dishes we tried were the chicken kharahi, methi mutter, dhabbey dal, roti, Lacha pharata, and naan. The standouts here was the dal, smooth with simple flavors, and the chicken which had a beautiful color and tasty curry cooked with onions and peppers. It should've had less oil though. The cream in the mutter methi really drowned out the flavor. The breads were good but would've liked them to be warmer. Gulab jamun for dessert was huge, delicious and served nice and hot.
The service got the job done but with some hiccups along the way. I think we had a new waiter so might be understandable.
Overall, Ruby had good food in a beautiful restaurant but if we went back we'd try some different things. read more
