Ruby Parked is tucked between Interstate 94 as it passes through Brookfield WI and the neighboring Rubywood subdivision. The 9 acre park was dedicated in 1954. Homes in this area currently run in the 300K and 400K range. The park has essentially a single trail that runs the length of the park. To your left as you walk west is Deer Creek and to your right the Rubywood subdivision. The park has a playground for young kids and a basket ball court for those that are older.
Upon my visit back in the beginning of March of this year, the basket ball court was empty, a family or two were visiting the playground, and a number of couples were strolling along the trail.
It's an interesting area due to the wetlands and the proximity to Interstate 94. Noisy but very pleasant none-the-less.
Ruby's bigger (31 acres) but younger (1985) brother, Brookfield Manor Park, lies just to the east. I highly recommend visiting both in the same outing.
If you can make it on an early Sunday morning just as the sun is getting up, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more
