Right now we will wait to go back to the store. I'm from Illinois and they have Jewel there. This new Safeway looks like it's a Jewel from the outside. Love the cleanliness of the store. Curious if the samples are for grand opening only and if they'll always have someone out like the other local stores do. Parking was tight but they do have an area that is covered / shaded. There were a lot of specials, for example a huge line just for $5.99/lb ribeyes. I'm lax with my rating since they just opened. To me it will be any other grocery store after the initial excitement wears down. I didn't have the best experience at the butcher counter. I stood there waiting to get chicken satay. A worker walked up next to me and I asked if there's a bell to ring or a number. I'm fairly short so assumed maybe I'm not seen. The worker walked to the side and told a guy that this lady needs some help And the guy that was there (his family was visiting him at work) said another guy could help me in a nonchalant way but then just pointed.
