Sails, by Louis Pearson, consists of two stainless steel sculptures located across the street from each other, in front of the abandoned Alexza Pharmaceuticals and Google office buildings on Stierlin Court. There are no fountains or water features displayed as of June 2023, and the dusty benches near one of the art pieces look like they're falling apart. But the sculptures still look beautiful, surrounded by lovely vegetation and flowering shrubs with the cloudy skies as a backdrop and the sun setting in the distance.
The sculptures are a bit run down, noticeably tarnished by rust when viewed up close, but the artwork still sparkles in the sunlight with its mirror-like finish. The area felt like a ghost town on a Saturday evening, nothing too exciting here. But I did find a hare hiding in the brush, that was a cute surprise! read more
