From Lauren's review

My Google reviews keep getting removed so I'm posting this here... I want to preface this with the fact that this was my first ever time getting extensions and I did not really know what to expect and told Josh that. After reaching out to Josh about a week after getting the extensions saying they seemed tight, he arranged for another stylist to loosen the end beads a bit which she did. I followed up with Josh later that week when he got home and said I was curious about going darker, like the photos I showed him initially and he said the color looked good but that we could go darker at the move up appointment at the end of November so I stopped pushing because he did not seem to be open to doing it despite expressing my disappointment. I also asked about tightness because I was still in a lot of pain and could not really wear my hair up and he loosened a few but ultimately only told me to make sure I'm putting it up correctly which I was. I left feeling like the jerk again and sick of the pain so I made an appointment for a consultation with another stylist and I am so glad I did. She wound up taking them out because she could see the damage to my scalp which I suspected but was told it was normal by Josh. She also showed me the hair she used; the hair Josh installed felt like incredibly heavy Barbie hair compared to hers. I politely told Josh that I had to have them removed and he proceeded to make me feel like it was all my fault again and asked multiple times who removed them and it escalated from there. I did not immediately take to social media or demand my $1,850 back but instead tried to just give him feedback as to why I would not be returning but it went immediately sideways and instead of being empathetic he was very defensive. Again, as a first time client getting extensions this was very frustrating because he made me feel like it was normal and that it was all in my head and I believed him. So at the end of the day I had them taken out at 3 weeks and will be letting my scalp recover until my appointment at the new salon. I am just writing this as a warning to those of you saving up their hard earned money to feel beautiful with hair again; do your research. I thought Mastermind was the highest level and it is definitely not; he sells himself as an elite stylist with access to the best hair because of that status and I do not want anyone else to be fooled. Not once has he taken any responsibility or at all made me feel like this wasn't 100% my fault and not once has he offered any sort of refund. You can see from the photos attached, the before photos were my natural hair and the color I wanted and what I ultimately wound up with. read more
