This was our second trip on the Schooner Freedom, and we highly recommend it as an option during your visit to St Augustine or somewhere nearby. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all our questions, and shared fun stories, too. This is a family run business, and they take a lot of pride in offering excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. They offer complementary beer, wine, a variety of sodas, and water. I think they even had champagne prior to departure. The trip is a mix of sailing and using the engine, based on the weather, tides, etc. And the crew works very hard when they are moving the sails around to catch the appropriate wind. It is interesting to watch them work. If you are looking for a party barge type experience, this isn't it. If you are looking for a relaxing sailing experience with friendly, professional staff who take their job seriously and enjoy having guests sail with them, Schooner Freedom is your place.
