Scout's honor, brunch at Scout was just a-ok.
We saw that Scout had outdoor seating and called ahead to check that we could brunch outdoors with our pup. Check! Service was pretty slow - from waiting at the host stand to getting seated to finally flagging down a server and getting our orders in, to finally getting our food... it was a long waiting game.
I ordered the Phoenix, which is basically a fancy chicken and waffle - the waffle was fluffy and fragrant but the Nashville hot chicken on top was a bit disappointing - dry and flavor didn't give me Nashville hot vibes. The Triple Berry Jam French Toast was pretty good but nothing mind blowing.
Overall, the brunch we had at Scout was just a-ok. But next time I will leave the pup at home and stop in for the fried chicken (because that's what I've heard the most rave reviews for) and hope for a better second try! read more
