If I could give 0 stars I would! This company is a ripoff!! Brought my daughters car in for the "free" inspection on warning lights. Quickly the free inspection became a $200 diagnostic charge. I asked if the diagnostic charge would be applied to the final charges if we fix the car with Services Street in initially was told yes. When I received the repair estimate all of a sudden this bill had gone up from just a free diagnostic all the way to over $2000 to replace a sensor in the engine crankshaft. The part was less than $200. However the labor was going to be over $1700 and when I asked why I was told that it will take approximately 8 to 10 hours to take everything apart even to get to where the sensor is located. I then asked if the $200 was going to be credited to the actual services and was told no this time by someone else that answered the phone. When I mentioned that I was told that it would, then they had to go ask around to see who told me that, making me feel like they were accusing me of lying about what I was told when I was in the store. Initially, I was gonna go ahead and do the repairs, but decided to call around and ask other automotive service places how much to repair would be based on the estimate that I was given from Service Street. All three locations that I called all stated that they believe that service street was seriously inflating the cost of the labor and even one said, maybe they made a mistake on how much and wrote the wrong amount down. All three of them received a copy of the estimate so they could make sure they were getting the right part and every last one of them came back less than $300 for parts and labor , stating there is no way it would take eight hours , and it doesn't even need to be broke down that this could be done in two hours or less. I am almost 100% positive that this was caused by the fact that they saw three women coming in (myself and my two teenage daughters) and took advantage of the fact thinking that I would not be smart enough to check around and make sure I was getting the best estimate for these repairs! Upon return to the store, we ended up spending $225 for a diagnostic test which is absolutely ridiculous! Based upon the fact that most places do a diagnostic test for $100 or less or I could've taken it to an auto parts store and let them put it on and do a diagnostic and it would've been free. The estimate prices provided are inflated tremendously. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as Service Street Corporate office regarding this. I am also demanding a full refund of the diagnostic as we were definitely taken advantage of. I will never use your company again . I am glad I did my research or I would've been out of almost $2300 for something that should be less than $300 to repair. read more
