Guyyyzzzz - YES! This is the perfect little local spot for a great brew if your a Holden-ite (or even if you're like me and makin' the trek). Met up with a friend of ours in my husband's hometown and were both so thrilled that this place was an option!
Did you know that Holden was one of Massachusetts' ye olde tree-cuttin' towns? This cozy brewery is named for the 7 original sawmills dating back to the late 1700s, and man do I love it. It's a small place (only about 6 tables) but with loooadddssss of local flavor. The table tops are made from wide-cut lumber. The sample trays are cut in a saw shape. Several framed images detailing Holden's logging/sawmill past decorate the walls along with antique trinkets (even saws!). It's delightfully rustic and warm.
Our visit was wonderful - listened to the football game over the radio (no TVs - thank goodness), didn't have to shout (sound-dampening panels are hung in the space), had some great pours (like Prescott/maple porter and Lookout Farm's habanero hard cider), and didn't even notice that there were children present (YES play room in the back!). 4 stars instead of 5 for the no-food-factor, though I'm relatively certain that if you wanted to pick up pizza next door they would be fine with it. We'll absolutely be back - see(saw) you around 7! read more
