If you want the cheapest gas in the Fort Union Triangle (with Sandy to the South, Midvale to the West, Cottonwood Heights to the East), you go to the Shell station.
Talk about a niche market: People living or working around the Fort Union triangle who are too cheap to get a membership -- or too lazy to drive 5 miles -- to Costco. On this night, we fit that description. They have ... let's just call them the sparsest amenities of any gas station in the area.

There was an old Simon & Garfunkel song, "A Heart in New York", where the song goes "Lookin' down on Central Park, Where they say you should not wander after dark." Well substitute "Central Park" with "the Shell Station on Fort Union Boulevard." Well, I'm exaggerating, but I'd turn the safety off your mace ... just in case ;)
Again, we were there for the cheapest gas, and Shell has everybody in a 5-mile radius beat. read more
