If you've every driven down Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park, Florida you know how congested it can be, the middle two lanes are for those of you that are familiar with the area and have the pedal to the metal, the far left lane is for making U-Turns once you've realized you passed up the business you were looking for on the opposite side of the road, the far right lane is for the out of town drivers like me looking for a gas station or a place to pull over to get your bearings.
I bailed off this drag strip to fuel up at this Shell station after my low fuel light failed to reset for the fifth or sixth time. I was a little surprised to see it completely void of any customers which was a little spooky until I saw the price of gas which was at least ten cents higher than all the other stations I pasted while looking for a place not surrounded by checking cashing businesses, abandoned store fronts, pawn shops, buy here pay here car dealers and rent a sofa stores.
I hesitatingly inserting my credit card into the pump after looking for scanners and shady characters it was then I realized this was a very clean location, with free disposable gloves at the pump, all the trash cans were empty and the property well maintained somewhat justifying the extra cost per gallon sorta of. After pumping fifty buck in the tank of course I had to go inside to get the receipt from the somewhat "surprised to see a customer" attendant since the dispenser at the pump wasn't working...okay it wasn't such a bad experience and I maybe shouldn't of been so quick to judgement so if your looking to over-pay just a little to avoid any lines this may work out for you... read more
