The Shoe Dept. Encore is a chain retail store that sells mostly footwear (e.g., sneakers, boots, dress shoes, and sandals) and some accessories (e.g., handbags and socks) for women, men, and children. I sometimes shop at The Shoe Dept. Encore to browse and to buy anything that interests me, but as expected, the selection of shoes is smaller and has higher prices than do many online stores. During my recent visit, I felt surprised that many shelves were completely empty. The shelves that were stocked were organized. I focused on the women's shoes. I found a pair of Skechers sneakers that I liked and that were on sale for $50. Some other styles were not priced as competitively. I wish that this store carried more of my preferred brands of shoes. I also think that employees could greet customers more. read more
