Here comes the bad guy. This places has been so hyped up over the past few weeks since they opened it seemed like a must visit.
I saw them post something on ig and less than 2 hrs after opening, 5 mins after posting, I pull into the parking lot after making the drive from Atlanta. There's 2 people getting coffee otherwise the store is completely empty of customers.
Everything is full but the one item they posted magically has completely sold out. There's no line, there's no excess of customers buying pastries, nothing. The 2 people who were there didn't even have pastries. They had coffees to go.
So I'm a little conflicted to believe they had a massive rush in that tiny window that sold out all of the apple "tarts" but again every other pastry item was still full and plentiful. Ample chocolate items which I don't eat chocolate, and over the laminated pastries trend.
Anyway I feel like it was poor preparation or none at all and saying "we just sold out" sounded better than saying we didn't make any. Or we made 2 for the day. While I understand you can't make items on the fly if you know that's a hot item and you sell out in under two hours and nothing else moves why wouldn't you out emphasis on making that item and not so much time making excess of items that clearly don't sell. read more
