Absolutely lovely experience. A bit of a drive from Seattle, but definitely worth it. The drive itself is lovely and scenic and I-5 N is not terrible, particularly after about Montlanke Terrace. From their website, the farm was started by a couple who wanted to grow peonies, and wow! they've done a spectacular job. Unassuming place minus all the commercial and tourist trappings. Rows and rows of beautiful blooms, particularly now, in early June...some as large as your open hand. Really well cared for, and even the bees approve! The smell is just heavenly. Nothing any perfume could possibly replicate! Great place to walk and admire nature, and also to take pictures. There is a manicured garden off to the side that is also quite lovely. A small store, where you can either purchase bouquets, or, they will give you a bucket and clippers to pick your own, and give you instructions on how to do so, then wrap your pick for you and help you to get it home (helpful to bring your own bucket or vase for transportation in your car). Only $2 per stem, and after almost ten days, my buds are still opening. They sell peony jelly and goat milk soap, so, of course I had to buy some. Just divine. Thanks to these people who have worked so hard to create this marvel, and have opened it to the public, so we can also appreciate it. No admittance fees or anything else. Just a lovely experience. read more
