Rapid and Austria were always THE soccer teams of Vienna, Austria and still are the most famous ones. I think that we should return to what soccer really is - namely a spare time activity that means fun. That's why I questioned Mr. Steffen Hofmann, the captain of Rapid today: 1) Why did you become a kicker? Steffen Hofmann: As a child soccer was my favorite hobby and therefore I wanted to put my dream of becoming a professional kicker into reality. 2) What is so fascinating for you with soccer? What does soccer mean for you? In my eyes it is sport number 1, a very quick sport, where always something can happen, you do not think of that can happen at that very moment. That is what makes everything that interesting for me. 3) What would you tell children who are eager to learn how to play soccer, maybe even become a professional kicker? In any case it is a very long way till you reach the target - therefore you have to work very hard on yourself at all times, but never loose fun. It should be fun!!! 4) What was the most difficult part for you? What was the best? The best moment with Rapid was winning the Championship in 2005 and 2008 as well as the entry into the Champions League in 2006.
