Small town cafes can be some of the best places for no frills basic food and friendly service. Skyline Cafe is precisely that. The food is good, typical fare, but served quickly and portions enough for any appetite. I had the frittata -- skyline's version of it and it was a winner. It came out as more of a scrambled egg than an omelet-style, loaded with the onions, peppers, tomatoes -- and not tiny little cubes, but large chopped pieces, and the crunchy bacon and the cheese topped it off. There was a side of homemade salsa. It was just okay -- nothing spectacular and was not needed because the frittata was flavorful enough on its own. With that said, eating more veggies is not a bad thing, so I ate it anyway. (you're welcome, Mom.) Like most small-town diners, there is a healthy take-out business, and this was no exception. Even early in the morning, there was a stream of people. What I enjoy about places like these is listening to the locals who sit near me, eating, drinking gallons of coffee, and talking about what's happening in their life, at the ranch, their business, or trading hunting stories.
