First time trying Sofra today, and one word sums it up: Intriguing. New to Turkish food, we already want to come back to explore more of the menu. I ordered the Menemen, which is scrambled eggs in a savory green pepper and tomato cloud of deliciousness. The pomegranate tea was very sweet in a good way, making me feel like a happy human hummingbird. For dessert, the rice pudding is a must-order and highly recommended. The atmosphere and decor are beautifully done. Soft background music creates a relaxing vibe; lovely serving dishes and glassware. Service was attentive throughout our meal. It is also worth noting that the brunch/lunch fare here is distinct from their sister restaurant (Turkish Delight), making it a unique complement. My only constructive critique regards the portion sizes, which were small (and not cheap). We left still feeling a little hungry. We did not realize until later that we could have also ordered from the lunch menu (even though it was during the brunch hours). Overall, it was a positive experience with intriguing dishes, and we look forward to coming back to try more! Great addition to Anchorage's eclectic food scene. read more
