Wow! I read some pretty sour reviews on this business. And to be honest? My experience was entirely different. Does it matter what day you're there? Maybe. Does it matter who is serving you or working the bar? Perhaps. But one thing I will say. The place was very clean. Even the old wood table I sat at was clean (not sticky like so many are in bars), and the atmosphere cozy and friendly. I could even read the menu in the dimmer lights because they know how to print and present a menu! (who knew?)
Also, if you get the chance, try to stop by when Richelle V. is working. She is a very wonderful young woman who tended to all our needs and questions with directness, politeness, and most of all, with a SMILE!
The food you ask? Way better than I expected for a bar. I had the cod fish & chips. Thick pieces, moist, and very appetizing.
FIVE STARS from me for this wonderful hidden 'secret' in a well-run country bar. Of course, like another reviewer stated, "what do you expect?", it's in quaint little downtown Orting! read more
