Welcome Apache Junction's newest small business, Spud Happens! Open Thursday-Monday 11am-11pm, which is nice as a lot of the local small businesses close Sunday and/or Monday. There is plenty of seating to choose from even if multiple parties dining in. Very casual seating, and staff will bring your order to the table after ordering at the counter.
What We Ordered:
- Chili Cheese Baker ($8): shared with my boyfriend and we ordered without onions due to preference. The chili doesn't taste homemade, but still a decent baked potato. We both would have preferred more seasoning, but there's Frank's Red Hot if we wanted to spice it up.
- BBQ Chicken Sliders ($10): my dad ordered this, and I tried a small amount. Tasted pretty standard in terms of BBQ sauce. You can tell the French Fries are just frozen, packaged ones.
- Canned Soda: Nothing fancy, but always like the cans so I can take the rest home. Also, it ensures flavor is consistent as fountain flavor can vary.
In Arizona, our temperatures rise and I definitely don't want to be warming my own oven up to make baked potatoes so I can see returning here to enjoy one. Definitely intrigued to try the twisted spud as well, as curious to see what it looks like. Ultimately, we felt it was a 4.5 stars so I'll round up to 5 stars. If you fancy potatoes, then stop on by and support a local small business. read more
