We went to several stone slab yards in Miramar, Morena, and El Cajon. Emad Dawood, the president of State Stone Works, convinced us immediately that he was who we wanted to install our kitchen countertops. He patiently explained the differences in quartz, quartzite, granite, and marble, then looked at our rough sketch, gave us an estimate for the cost, and said he could do it within 7 days. He then took us on a tour of his workshop. That was the clincher. He has the latest technology, computerized laser cutting equipment that is amazing. His outstanding crew completed our kitchen, including demo, installation, and cleanup, in less than six hours. The results are stunning! Mr. Dawood had said we absolutely wouldn't be disappointed with his work, and we most certainly agree -- he is the best. But what would you expect from someone who used to be a nuclear engineer?
